Watch out for the bad ones.

Thinking about a mail order bride? Before you sign up with a particular dating service, you need to make sure they're not scammers who plan to take your money and run. In fact, lots of unscrupulous folks may try to take advantage of you as you look for a mail order bride service. So keep an eye open for these warning signs of a scam:

NO GIRLS CONTACT INFORMATION: The company should have a physical address and phone number, not just email and PO Box. Call the phone number and make sure someone answers (not just an automated voice mail service).

NO PRICE LIST: The company should have a list of fees and charges broken down into specific categories and items. You should know if you'll be paying for phone calls, postage, delivery services, travel fees, or other expenses.

CASH OR CHECK ONLY: The ability to process credit cards is expensive for a business and it leaves a paper trail. Be very cautious of any agency or individual who requests cash or check only. A legitimate service should welcome your Visa or MasterCard.

FEW DATING / BRIDE PROFILES: You should be able to review hundreds of profiles of potential brides in the country of your choice. If the company has fewer than 50 or so, chances are they're a small and possibly bogus operation.
